Here’s how it goes:

You buy an 80% lower from one of the many sites, take 20 minutes to finish it yourself at home, then buy a PSA (or Aero/LWRCI/etc) upper and parts kit, and bing bang boom you have a fully serviceable AR-15 for like 400 bucks. And the government is none the wiser. I’m not saying I’m opposed to this, and this certainly isn’t the workaround that led to the recent mass shootings (it’s clear that the shooters in these instances actually underwent background checks and passed) but we’re lying if we say this isn’t a real thing.
