This Live vs PTR comparison has me really excited

The game starts at max level.

Then what's the point of the leveling experience? If it's just a time gate that's solely there to prevent you from playing the real game, why do all these MMO developers keep doing it? I mean, what other games do you play in which you spend the first 80 hours just waiting for the game to start? My guess: none.

If you think the game starts at max level, the other guy is right - you should play a different game. I'll one-up him by saying you should play a different genre. MMOs start with leveling because it's supposed to introduce you to the core parts of the MMO, namely the world and the gameplay mechanics. If you don't enjoy leveling, it's because you don't enjoy or have grown bored with both of those. Which is a telltale sign that you'd be better off spending your time on something else.

And don't get me wrong, I don't mean this in any spiteful or derogatory way. I wholeheartedly mean it, for your own sake. It sounds like you've just played to the point of feeling jaded about the whole game. You're burned out. You're not playing because you actually enjoy playing, you're playing because you enjoy the rewards you get after you've played. I might be reading too much into it, but ask yourself this: Do run dungeons/battlegrounds because you like the experience of doing them, or because you want the stuff you get by getting to the end of it? If it's the latter option, then I really recommend you just take a break from MMOs and experiment with other genres of games.

At least the way I see it, the only good reason you ever have to keep doing something you don't particularly enjoy for the sake of being rewarded is if it's your job.
