We live in a world where pharmacy techs are now making the same as new grad pharmacists who have a whole DEGREE.

That’s wholeheartedly untrue and you obviously aren’t educated enough to know what many techs go through. Many techs go beyond getting their license and national certification. They get certified in area’s where YOU would never be. I’m guessing you’ve never worked in a specialty pharmacy for nuclear drugs? The techs there start out at $32-36/hourly and yes the ONE RPH makes much more, but the person in charge is a chemical research MD and not the RPH, so slow your hateful words bruh.

The question that you need to ask is: Can I do EVERYTHING that my techs can and get the same exact results WITHOUT asking for help? Ie: Ins billing/COB billing/SDL billing/chargebacks and reimbursement’s/weekly & monthly returns/Training of every new person/expense orders/post claims and resolve partials and out of stock meds/do Covid testing/memorizing rules and regulations for state and CDC vaccines/DME Medicare guidelines and insulin pumps/EOB for Medicare during coverage and catastrophic gap/keeping your patients happy. And so many many things that they do on a daily basis.

I’m not saying pharmacist shouldn’t be paid more, because they most definitely should be! They have worked hard for their education and deserve to paid accurately. However many techs have worked just as hard and have put just as much effort into their education. So please don’t make the mistake of thinking that a pharmacist or a doctor can do their job effectively or efficiently without that technician or nurse being educated as well. Give that person the respect they deserve and they in-turn will be more willing to stand beside you and help.
