Last two times I was in their main stand there were a lot of tourists, and a lot of old fuckers. Not a great mix if you want to generate a proper football atmosphere.
Tourists aren’t really clued in on the club’s culture and can’t get things going on their own, and the old fuckers just want to sit, watch and maybe whinge.
Not a problem unique to Anfield like, even at our ground the main stand is full of moaning old cunts and people with young families who don’t want their kids on the kop.
If they want more atmosphere they should make that section next to the away fans cheap for local 18-25 year-olds, they’d compete with the away fans instead of sitting on their hands.
