We’ll only halt the far right in Europe if we get tough on terror and migration

confront Europe, as perhaps never before, with a stark choice between idealism and realism the idealism even among more and more liberals seems to be that europe can reduce mass migration.

the realism is that europeans are not having enough children so we need migrants, and that global warming will cause more mass migrations from other parts of the world to our continent, so we're gonna have mass migration either way

Calls for stronger law enforcement and better security will lead to heightened surveillance measures across the continent. These will be denounced by human rights campaigners as putting civil liberties at risk

well that's too bad. as our countries are becoming increasingly diverse, there are going to be some big changes in europe. we will need more surveillance for safety, more police on the streets, and yes, we are going to have to start talkiing about white privilege in european countries and reducing segregation of minorities by placing them in more liberal middle class and upper class neighborhoods. there's no reason why minorities should be stuck in only poor working class areas where they face problems from the lower class natives.

Europe’s far-right and populist movements will end up dominating the continent. the far right in europe is all a bunch of old white men anyway. give it a bit of time and they're gone and then we can have more smoother migration without their complaining

Some of Europe’s vulnerabilities have technical causes: for instance, the Schengen area’s external borders have never been protected.

it shouldn't need protection in the first place - europe has a major hand in the problems in the places where the migrants are coming from. external border protection is not going to help because it does not solve the original cause of the mass migration - social, religious and political instability and mass poverty
