Thank you for the clarification. Not trying to attack you at all. I understand the point you are making, it's just not the way things are. Sure, there are some sick motherfuckers that thrive in the prison would and love the chance to smash someone's teeth in. There are also people who feel forced to clique up with gangs and to follow the pack. If you're talking about the people who are in there for sexual and violent crimes thriving off of the opportunity to do more sadistic shit, well yeah no shit. But beating someone's ass for raping a 9 year old or for torturing a disabled person is just their version of prison justice and is mostly just seen as the way it is. Most prisoners are fathers and have families and see it as almost a way of being a good father when they can't actually be there. Yeah that's twisted thinking but it's the way it is. Again though, that doesn't just "happen". Like oh he is a child molester I'm going to go push his shit in. You have to get that shit cleared with the shot callers in your pod/dorm/cell block. Most often hits like that happen as an initiation into a gang. If you do something unsanctioned like that it's seen as disrespectful to the guys in charge and your putting yourself at risk.
