Local town had their annual “Baconfest” and this guy was talking to the vegan protesters.

Moral/ethical reasons and environmental reasons.

I kinda wanted to become a vegetarian for a while—especially since studying envi sci in college. I grew up eating meat tho and knew a few pushy/asshole vegetarians in college so I just kinda brushed them off. But deep down I would always feel guilty about eating meat if I thought about it too hard (like guilty bc of the ethical/environmental reasons not bc of the jerks haha)

Now at my job I work with a lot of really chill vegetarians none of them are pushy about it and a lot of them love sharing food and recipes (mainly pre-pandemic when we were in the office more haha). So I tried a lot of meat substitutes at home out of curiosity like they’d recommend brands for me if I asked (I found that cooking them is easier and I’m lazy haha but also cooking meat lowkey grossed me out)

Sooo yeah I decided to give 100% meatless a try as a challenge to myself and I was like a month into that when the pandemic started (which made it a LOT easier since I wasn’t going out or like visiting my non-vegetarian friends and family) and it stuck (:

Sorry that become long but yeah haha I actually cook for myself a lot more now and trying to recreate meat dishes that I used to like is really fun for me idk (And fake buffalo chicken nuggets are my fuckin guilty pleasure junk food)
