My dad started long haul trucking in the 90s and found Rush Limbaugh’s program. Firmly believe that’s when the downward spiral of our family began.

The final nail in the coffin was the judge that sent my brother and sister to live with their drug addicted mother because the children weren’t with a “natural” parent primarily since my dad was trucking. Even though my mom was a stay at home mom that had been raising those kids for almost a decade since their mother literally left them. She let my brother run around and drink- cops found him in the road drunk when he was 12. But boy I’m so glad they didn’t have to stay living with a non-natural parent. The horror.

Judge that made that decision, a “proud republican”, is now a federal judge but will always be the biggest piece of shit to me. I have read his ruling multiple times as an adult trying to find some other reason he decided to send them with her, even when she sat on the stand and admitted to using drugs with the kids around, having huge parties, etc. and the only reason he lists is the natural parent thing. All he accomplished was tearing a family apart.

This is why my blood boils with the right’s “family values” talk. It’s all bullshit.
