Lockdown Megathread

This lockdown is only prolonging the inevitable , eventually people will have to resume their normal lives and get back to work. Lockdown is meant to slow down the spread of the virus whilst the government makes a plan to increase hospital bed capacity and medical supplies . This time and money is supposed to prepare for the surge of cases that will come in the moment the lockdown is lifted.

An extension if anything will only lead to further crisis and causes the peak of this virus to hit us in the middle of winter when many will be more susceptible to the virus..

As for the unbelieveable amount of money I feel like it would have benefited south Africans if the government put it towards reduced or even free electricity and water for the country over the next two month, one less bill to haunt those in the winter months once lockdown has been lifted, imagine having your electricity cut off in the middle of June... R350 compensation is really not going to prevent hunger on a national scale.
