Lockdown saved no lives and may have cost them, Nobel Prize winner believes

So they knew there was a fast spreading virus and a lockdown was coming and kept businesses open to "help those businesses make money". How does that make any sense? Here's a qoute from a Mexican governor on March 26th. If a strict lockdown came after that thats great. During the time when it was clear this was an issue Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, and Belarus all had politicians who made bold claims that the virus wasn't serious. All 4 of those places are seeing much higher death rates than places that didn't. That is my point.

(CNN)The governor of the central Mexican state of Puebla told reporters Wednesday that poor people "are immune" from the coronavirus.

During his remarks, which broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook, Gov. Luis Miguel Barbosa posed a question, asking reporters which people were infected at the moment.

"The majority are wealthy people, you know," he said, answering his own question. "If you're rich you're at risk, but if you're poor, no, well us poor, we are immune."
