[logan/deadpool] Theory about where deadpool fits in the timeline.[spoilers]

Potential problems:

  1. Professor X can only control people's minds, and has no influence on physical objects. So he couldn't have actually destroyed the X Mansion. If we're going to double down and make an assumption on an assumption, then I suppose it's possible that one of the other mutants destroyed the mansion like you described while Professor X was having his meltdown, but what we saw happen in Logan doesn't really allow for that. Professor X, it looks like, was using that impressive "freeze everyone in place" thing he did in the earlier films, only instead of being precise and harmless, it is violent and uncontrolled. Still people tend to more or less be unable to move or do anything while suffering from the effects of the power, unless of course you are simultaneously healing from those effects like Logan.

  2. Nothing in Deadpool seems at all futuristic. Whereas in Logan they bought what would be considered a brand new truck in 2016, at a used car lot that considered it to be an old piece of junk. And that's not even to mention the self driving semi trucks. Sure the whole 2029 future wasn't very in your face about the differences in technology from today. But Deadpool doesn't really have any. Also doesn't wade say something in the pre-movie teaser about how weird it is that there are phonebooths in 2017?

  3. It's explained in the movie why there are only two lesser known mutants who show up with one of deadpool's classic meta jokes. "It's almost like the studio couldn't afford another X-man." The mansion is empty not because mutants have been wiped out by Dr. Rice already, but because it's the setup to that very joke.
