Logic and Reason Should be more Prevalent In This Subreddit

Your topic in particular is just so far already mulled over that we are already done discussing the possibility of chiropractic being beneficial.

Thank you for a nice and well thought out response, however I disagree. Reddit is filled with new members all the time, and therefore rehashing older debates will always be needed. Not only that, but new information can be presented, organizations change, etc etc, so rehashing from time to time to account for new information is, in my opinion, part of what being a skeptic is all about, no matter how tiring it can get.

I will read your link, thanks. However the only other links presented to me were again, from biased sources. All sources have SOME bias, but 'sciencebasedmedicine.org' or 'quack-something-or-other' obviously has an agenda that doesn't allow for certain views, just as a website named allhailrushlimbagh.com wouldn't allow for certain views.

And like I said, I was met with ridicule and downvoted instantly, instead of being presented with research (well, acceptable research that the medical and scientific communities use) that doesn't have an overwhelming bias to prove that chiropractors are or are not actually performing medicine.

The fact that you are claiming we are closed minded about so-called other benefits means you need to do your homework or you are ignoring the vast body of literature solidly showing it is mostly pseudoscience, which would be intellectually dishonest on your part.

Well, interestingly enough, I met an acupuncturist on the train the other day. Despite my understanding that acupuncture doesn't provide solid medical progress, or any medical progress beyond that of a placebo or similar, I let her discuss her views with me.

One thing I agreed with (not related to acupuncture solely) is that different acupuncturists focus on different areas or types of acupuncture, and that is the same across any actual medical profession, IT profession, and pretty much any job under the sun.

I'm not saying that all chiropractors are bad. But neither am I saying that all are actual doctors or medical professionals. My point is to put forth that there has been a prevalent trend in chiropractic practice where people who do go to medical school, and do only focus on real medical practices to alleviate what I call "structural engineering issues" of the body, and this group does NOT believe in any of that false, non-medical crap like subluxation.

I put this view forth because another thread about chiropractor adjusting a baby (which I agree with should NOT be done) was FILLED with information that simply dismissed all chiropractors as quacks and idiots and basically shit on them without any medical standpoint.

VERY few comments actually explained why a baby should not receive adjustments (due to how the human body develops as a child) and backed it up with evidence of a sort.

The rest didn't put forth anything useful, just shit on anybody with the title 'chiropractor' without discrimination.

Now, does that seem right?
