Logic time

You and me both stranger.

The awakening they are probably referring to is the time in history where people briefly snap out of their cultural beliefs. It happens after every major traumatic event, such as this pandemic.

I think that people do this because they realize that something isn't right; when things are right, they run smoothly. Good food is easy to eat. When something tastes off, it's suddenly very difficult to eat. If a pandemic happened, people assume something in the system is wrong. Religion encompasses all of society, so all of its systems. So when something terrible happens, it's easy to blame religion just as easy as it is to thank religion when things are right.

When something tastes wrong, you can either vow never to eat that type of food again, or you can make small changes to the recipe until you find something that suits your tastes. It's always possible to poison yourself (many philosophers were technically put to death or went insane) so be careful.
