London acid attack: Toxic substance thrown over two-year-old boy and parents

Not even close to true.

If the person has a reason that causes them to get to the point they want to kill them, they aren't going to poor acid over them to avoid murder charges, They are just going to kill them, people don't deescalate at this point to save them a few years in jail.

They don't decide to attack people with acid, to avoid charges, the charges are not even that far off, and in some counties already is life in prison.

And to the point of costing lives, The effects of acid attacks are so bad, the difference is almost negligible. It can burn the eyes, and eyelids, leaving the victim blind, burn the ears, leaving them death, burn the lips right of someones face, showing all their teeth and gums, as well as burning through the gum, leaving people unable to eat solid foods. It can remove someones hair entirely. and any fumes from it will likely be breathed in, causing even more damage than just on the surface.

It will scar people both physically and mentally, to the point where they don't have much of a life left living.

Sometimes, death isn't the worst thing. Anyone that purposely does something like this to someone, is no better than a murderer in the first place.
