Loners of Reddit, how was growing up with few or no friends like?

Sounds like you've got a problem about being a "loner" and replied to your question saying it's "depressing".

So what are you supposed to be doing.. hanging out with people every night? Might feel that way in the years after high school where you would normally hang out with buddies from school or neighbors you grew up with.

But years later as you get used to being alone, it's not as much of a problem. I remember around that early 20's age when I was concerned about the phone not ringing as much or feeling like you have to go out all the time. As you get older you don't worry about it as much.

A lot of people feel like they have to go out all the time, every night. Women are pretty bad for that. Whatever with it. They're afraid to be alone. The basis of that is if they stay at home that feeling of how their life sucks, starts to set in. That's why they're addicted to distractions, to try and avoid reality.

Sounds like that's where the problem is.. you're afraid to be alone.

You also mention "depressing". Well that'd be because your life sucks. So maybe work on fixing that. Doesn't happen overnight. Long term project fixing a life that sucks. People these days want an instant fix for everything. Oh take a pill that'll fix it. Yeah.

Let's look at what it takes to be someone's "friend". You have to be fake, you can't tell them straight what you think. You cannot tell somebody the truth of what you're thinking in your mind. Otherwise they get all offended. So to be friends with somebody you have to be fake and suck up to them. A lot of lying about how, yeah that shit you did is great, meanwhile in your mind you think it's not. Same thing with having a girlfriend. You can't tell somebody straight what you think of them. So much sucking up to a girl to try and get down her pants. Basicly not being yourself. Whatever.

Think of why nobody's your friend. Probably because you're a loser and you don't look like a movie star. Don't you think that's shallow? You're not good looking and don't look like a leading man in a movie. Same thing with why you can't pick up a woman on online dating services. Seems quite superficial to me. These people you're wanting to be friends with don't like you because you're a loser. That means they're bad people who aren't a good person. Why do you want them? They're assholes.

So that means they're not good people. Why don't old buddies wanna hang out with you anymore? Well cause they think you're a loser. That means they're not good people. Why do you want to suck-up to these people? You'd have to be fake to get along with them. It's sorta like if you could pick-up a woman who's out of your league. You'd have to be fake and all that, pretending you're better than you are or something. Meanwhile, you sucking up to her, she totally doesn't respect you at all. If you do everything she wants and there's never any trouble she's bored and will move on.

All of it just stinks and better to say whatever with all that. Best to just be alone and not have to deal with all that. lol.

Maybe you should work on how your life sucks though, in that spare time instead of playing video games. You're depressed because your life sucks. So work on that.

At this point in my life, it's been proven that 99.9999% of everybody I've ever encountered is not a good person so best that they're all out. Much better. People are all the same and like sheep. For example, they see a high vote or play count on something. What if you could take a video and rig a fake play count, they'll all go, oh it's great, meanwhile it may not. But yeah.. sheep. Best to just not deal with any of them.

You get where I'm coming from? What you're afraid of, being alone.. from my perspective, is much better than being fake and sucking up to them, to try and get along with them.
