Is long distance worth it?

is doing long distant worth?

What do you consider "worth it"? Being able to visit each other? Closing the gap eventually? A relationship leading to marriage?

My bf and I are in our late 20s, and we met when I was working in his country. We've been dating for around 4 years now, 3.5 years of it long distance. We're still separated due to our careers, but are intending to close the gap this year, and settle down.

Why did we do it? When we met, we both had lots of dating experience, we had several options to realistically close the gap in the future, we had the money to regularly visit, and we were both willing to commit and work on a relationship, no matter the struggle.
