Looking to get back into running in the North Austin area. Where the runners at?

Right in front of the dog chasing me. Even though I have run three marathons and about a dozen half marathons, that's the only reason I run anymore.

However, tips I have. I have coached many people from worse starting points. For you, i would get off the trail running (at least initially) unless is it a smooth crushed granite path like town lake trail. Run a smooth long path. One you could almost run with your eyes closed. You want to 'veg out' on your feet, if you get my meaning. I prefer no music, but that is a personal preference. Get a watch and set it to beep at 8 minutes, then beep again in 45-60 seconds. Repeat. During those 45-60 seconds, you walk and re-hydrate. Take a quick mental psychical inventory while you drink and then off you go again. Increase the 8 minutes to 9, then 10 as you get more comfortable. You will get your endurance back and will be chewing up 7 and 10 mile runs like nothing. One of the hardest distances a runner has to endure is the space between their ears as the lie of 'I need to stop' crosses their mind.
