Looking to build my first PC (New to PC community)

You want both gaming an editing but an i7 4790K isn't really in your budget and you won't overclock anyways, so I thought you could make use of the hyperthreaded Xeon. There aren't a lot of green stuff you can buy but i at least tried to stick away from other colors. OS is just a preference so I picked you what was cheapest. the R9 290 is a great card which can max out almost any game at 1080p, but it runs a bit hot and consumes a low of power, but it's your best option to be honest. 8GB of RAM is good enough for most people but it all depends on your usage, if you feel like you're using it all up just add another pair of sticks anytime you like. The case is a personal preference really, NZXT is a great company and I love the design of this case. While it's considered a mid tower it's really huge and should have enough space for crossfiring another card and a closed water loop too. An SSD is about 10 times faster than a normal HDD when booting and opening programs/games, but use the HDD as mass storage for all your other files. IF you have any questions please feel free to ask me!
