D&D-wise - [Fun 4 All](http://www.f4ahobbies.com/), over by Meijer/Target on Carpenter, is the most significant gaming shop in the area, and I think they run Wednesday night D&D, though I haven't been in years. [Model Cave](http://www.modelcave.com/), downtown Ypsi on Mich Ave, and [Nankin Hobby](https://www.nankinhobby.com/), on Washtenaw across from Dom's Bakery, will have painting supplies if you're into that side of things, but I think both places' gaming books / minis selection is limited to Warhammer. (Nankin is more a model railroads, RC cars and planes, other stuff that moves shop; Model Cave is for build-and-admire type model cars/boats/planes/spacecraft.)
