I was looking for a graphic to depict "Teamwork." I found this.

Absolutely not. I feel like you and the hoard of people dedicating themselves to being shitty to me right now got the wrong impression and that's probably my fault due to my defensiveness.
I completely acknowledge that not only was the swastika appropriated from the east, but that Buddhism still utilizes it today with great reverence. There is literally nothing wrong with that.
Throughout this thread, I've been criticized as being "Eurocentric" (amongst other things) which I understand since my hatred of the swastika comes from an entirely Eurocentric place. I can't help that I'm not an ethereal global being. I'm very much corporeal and I do apologize if I've been arguing with 4th dimensional beings. I assure you I had no idea.
The point I was getting at in my initial innocuous comment that bore this shitstorm is that at least for my generation, the swastika will always be a symbol of hatred. I am missing three generations of my family and I lost them under that flag.
I completely and 100% accept and understand that the symbol is used throughout japan and other Asian countries. I don't begrudge them that. Like you said, it was theirs first.
What I don't agree with is seeing a swastika accidentally happen (see how stupid this is?) and while the only reason people are laughing is because it's universally considered a symbol of hate while being used to promote positive teamwork in a western country, and then coming to the symbol's defense like it needs you to stick up for it. Everyone is very impressed with how fucking worldly you are. What a global outlook you have. However, if stood over the mass graves bent, Auschwitz, not a single person facing their death would be comforted by you saying "You know, in Japan the swastika is a symbol of peace!"
So pardon me but get bent.
