Is that a new divine?

This is such a great idea. In fact, it gave me an idea for a mod.

Here's the historical parallel that brought it to mind:

In the agora (maketplace/town square) of Classical Athens there was something called the Monument of the Eponymous Heroes, which commemorated the city's most important mythological/quasi-historical founders, kings and heroes. Each of the city's ten tribes was named after one of them ('hero' is a Greek word, by the way, but it doesn't mean today what it meant to the Greeks; a Greek hero isn't equivalent to a 'hero' in the Elder Scrolls). The Monument of Eponymous Heroes was also a kind of public bulletin board, where the city posted important announcements.

Here's the mod I'm imagining:

Someone should make a monument to great modders, one that would stand in the center of the city of your choice and include statues of the nine or ten heroic modders (or maybe the modders of your choice), the heroes, in short, of modded Skryim. It would include plaques commemorating their achievements and contributions to the game, and it would provide the same kind of news, self-updating, about latest releases and their work.

I'm not sure anybody has ever made a mod that links to the internet and updates itself on a regular basis, and I don't know whether it's feasible within the game engine (I'm guessing not), but there must be workarounds. Could a modder use something like git to look for updates to the mod's news-providing files every time the game runs? There should even be a way to trigger an event in the game, so that when a modder releases a major update, a courier will arrive with a letter telling your character to check the monument for the latest news.

I guess it doesn't need to be a shrine to great modders, but I like the idea. In my imagination it's highly configurable, so that users/modders can choose whose news the monument delivers and how each modder is represented.

Gamwich's avator would be a wheel of immersive, lore-friendly cheese, of course.

Sheson's would be a some kind of inscrutable Dwarven machine.

Zerwas/Pfuscher would be a bush with 4k parallaxed textures.

Chesko's? Hard to say. Thoughts?
