Looking for Pet Advice for a chaotic household

I wouldn’t say “you’re screwed,” but mostly because I’ve been in your position before and it’s horrible. My stepmother is a crazy hoarder, and I lived in her hoarder den for a while as a teen. Unfortunately the truth is, you probably have too much on your plate right now. When I left the hoarder den I spent months covertly trapping critters and fixing them and taking them to shelters. I’m not saying you have to do that, but just being there is tough and tears at you for a while, give yourself some space. As to your pet possibly reaching the end of it’s days, I cannot tell you how truly sorry I am. I recently did it twice and it’s unspeakable difficult.

Here’s a thread about pet loss and some of it can seem a bit cold but there’s also some good advice and options. I hope you don’t need any of them anytime soon.
