Looking into buying a drone, any enthousiasts with tips for locations?

A Mavic Mini 2 has a AUW of 249g, so you can fly anywhere without a certification (but you do have to register because it has a camera) that isn't a no-fly zone, which basically excludes anything between Willebroek and Brasschaat, and like half the fucking country (but surprisingly, you are allowed to fly in downtown Ghent).

If you get your operator certificate, you can request exceptions and they don't have to be temporary. For instance: you can request to always be allowed to fly at your local park.

Personally, I think a park is gonna be pretty boring with a Mavic Mini 2 and I would recommend looking into DJI's new FPV drone. It's heavier, so you will have to get your operator certificate, but it can do pretty much everything a Mavic can and has a few flight modes that make it a lot more interesting. It's also a very good stepping stone to building your own FPV racing drones.

Since the rules are so asinine, it's pretty much impossible to abide by them. You need to request exceptions at least 10 days in advance, but DGLV takes over a month to approve them, so anything spontaneous is pretty much out of the question. Technically, this is illegal cause it's EBAW VLL2 (too close to Deurne airport). This is tripple illegal cause it's EBAW VLL2, EBDR (helipad on the frigate next to the Havenhuis), and because it's in the harbor and the entire harbor and everything around it is no-fly zone, because of terrorism or some shit. Pretty sure we can agree that in both examples nobody was at risk except the bikers who agreed to it (and even they weren't really at risk cause the thing has prop-guards).

The persons depicted in the videos were not the ones piloting the aircraft.
