looking into buying a multiscale

I have experience with the Ibanez and agiles, just not that particular one.

Just to preface, the fan fret adjustment is honestly not that big of a deal. I like it better than standard but going back and forth between regular and fanned frets is not as big a deal as you expect.

As for the guitars, Agiles tend to have thicker and more C shaped necks. Jackson's I've played were thinner, a bit flatter, while Ibanez generally are the thinnest and flattest.

My only issue with the Ibanez is the parallel fret (where the fret angles change) is not where I want them to be, causing the first few frets go have a more extreme angle than the Jackson or agile. Also, maybe it's just the EMG's, but I found the Ibanez to sound a bit lifeless when I tried it out.

The Agile I have definitely has a different neck feel, but still plays well. Obviously isn't a boutique custom hand made piece of art, but it's by no means scrapped together either. The agile Cepheus pickups are fine to my ears. Again, not boutique, but I'm not dying to replace them either.

Jackson's are hit and miss in playability when I've tried them, but when setup they are awesome. This model also has EMG's, so the sound is pretty much the same. Between the Ibanez and jackson 2, it comes down to mostly aestethics, painted vs natural neck feel, etc.

I would still go to GC and get your hands on a couple decent Ibanez and Jackson models for reference. Then decide if you like thinner or thicker necks.

Best of luck!
