Looking to get into philosophy where should I head?

There’s a podcast called Philosophize This by Dave West on Spotify. Good place to get easy explanations.

Some really great ones are the Shirt Introduction books because they’re small and you get a good overview of the philosopher/ time period.

Honestly, start anywhere. Do you like political philosophies, start with Locke and look for his contemporaries. Do you like science and math? Start with Leibniz. Do you like AI and consciousness? Start with Daniel Dennet. Do you like Feminism? Start with Beauvoir or Claude. You can all the way back in time to Plato or if you like it a bit more straightforward then go to Aristotle. If you want a philosophy of how to live, go to meditations (a lot of philosophers have written these kinds of works) or to the existentialists for stuff about anxiety, fear, and freedom.

If you want any recommendations specifically, you can PM me. I’ve read most of the major works on most subjects.

Also a note: the earlier back in time you jump to, the more difficult the text will likely be. The more abstract stuff will be really hard, so I suggest you use the internet as a buddy to help you with them. Have fun!
