Looking to Upgrade to a Moto X from my Nexus 5

What does the N5 do better? You are probably already aware but the N5 is a better experience if you're big on root and custom roms. Although, I believe the recent Turbo root on Verizon will soon be available for the Moto X.

Also, the N5 is on T-Mobile, so it gets updates immediately. It's already on 5.1 and the VZW Moto X is still on 5.0. However, the Moto X on Verizon does not actually suffer from the memory leak, unlike with other carriers. From a few minutes ago: 2,200+ hours since restart. I don't use any battery management apps either.

My personal biggest issue with the Moto X is the fact that it's too slippery. The metal sides taper down to 3.9mm so it can be tricky to hold in the beginning but once you adapt it's wonderful. The build quality is a huge step up compared to the N5. Between the aluminum frame, curved glass edges, and just how sturdy it feels.

Otherwise, it's a very similar experience to the N5. It's snappy, lag free, and pretty much stock Android. Both have okay cameras. Battery life (for me) has been substantially better though. I easily get 4.5-5 hours SoT over an 18 hour day. On very light-use weeks, I sometimes don't have to charge it for 3-4 days because idle drain has been 1% an hour. I like AMOLED, so that's better for my preferences. Otherwise, you may appreciate the N5 more if you don't. Front-facing speaker is a huge win over the N5's speaker. The bamboo is lovely, you can feel some of the tiny grains, but don't expect it to feel substantially unique either. It's still just a thin piece of wood (technically grass?) but definitely an attention grabber.

Let me know if you have other questions.
