Looks like Borderlands 3 will be an Epic Games Store Exclusive

Couldn't agree more, Steam's community forums are literally the last place I'd ever look for anything. Reviews are so frequently bombed due to memes, I don't even know when the score is real or not anymore. They've let the entire community-side of the platform fill up with the worst of internet-culture.

The only things Epic is "missing" that you can't just get from another website are cloud saves, workshop, better customer support and regional pricing.

All the other features Steam has, and Epic doesn't, are redundant features that other software specializes in. The chat is garbage, the music player is garbage, the communities are worse than using reddit/pcgamingwiki and the interface is so antiquated. The store is literally fucking impossible to use because there's tens of thousands of malware-filled dating games, visual novels, and literal tic-tac-toe with naked women tiles.

I like Steam well enough. At the end of the day though, all these digital-content-license-retailers are bad for consumers. Having games changed, like removing music from GTA: Vice City, or losing everything if/when the retailer inevitably shuts down is bad for consumers.

GoG has it's own issues, which is a shame, because DRM-free retailers should be what gamers support.
