Looks like Polygon has done a 180 after a lukewarm Switch review at Launch

I don't know if they specifically marketed it towards an audience that wanted this, I think they just made something genuinely intriguing. I got lucky and found myself in a store that had a couple in stock and decided to give it a chance. I haven't had a Nintendo system since the GameCube and even that was more of a long term roommate situation. I briefly owned a used Wii but sold it a few months later after the gimmick wore off.

The switch has one me over completely. It has brought my wife and I together over video games. She hates video games, but she loves Mario Kart. In the close to 5 years we've been together, she has done nothing but scoff at my PS4/Xbone and older game systems (with plenty of love and understanding as well). It was actually a real hurdle early in our relationship. But now, we play Nintendo Switch almost every other night and she recently asked me when the new Mario game was coming out. She actually initiates the gaming now.

I play during my morning coffee instead of fretting over troublesome political news. Since I work from home, my breaks from work are now shrines in Zelda. This system has utterly amazed me in its functionality and it's even improved my marriage. I'm can't wait to see what comes next or to take it on my next flight. What can I say, I didn't even know this was something I wanted and I love it. I also would've wrote it off completely if it were not for it's genuinely intriguing setup.
