That's greenwashing. I've seen trying to appear pro-gay while still funding both Dems and GOP (basically endorsing anti-gay candidates) is called pink-washing. Dunno what you would call doing it for trans... whatever color the wash is, it's a stunt.

The problem now, is that there is two sides to it.

On the one hand, I'm getting pretty close to the point where I want the LGBT and African American communities, specifically, to (at least temporarily) sit down and shut up; because it very much feels as though those two particular groups are completely taking over media and popular culture, and drowning everyone and everything else out, and no, I'm not just talking about whites. The other, even worse thing that these two groups now have as well, is a scenario where if you are critical of them, for any reason at all, you are immediately viewed as the most evil, bigoted person alive.

On the other hand, I genuinely do not want a scenario where gay or trans people are completely alone in society, and have bigoted white men bashing them to death in dark alleys, for no other reason than the supposed crime of being different; and part of the reason why I don't want that, is because as an autistic person, I've had two experiences where I could have been killed, and both were due to discrimination.

So while I genuinely do not condone the abuse that Moses Ingram has recently received, I can't completely deny understanding the motivation behind said abuse, either. The black female demographic in particular are pushing too hard at the moment; and they need to be aware that if they do keep pushing that hard, other people are going to start pushing back.

Representation is only going to help minorities up to a certain point. If the purpose is to make their existence known, and to end discrimination on that basis, that is legitimate; but shifting into megalomania and hogging the spotlight excessively will eventually attract dangerous levels of hostility as well.
