Lord of shadows massively underated,, we need new game now for the switch!

I got into the Castlevania series about 12 years ago. I'm by no means a "Castlevania purist" and I enjoy a wide range of game types. I picked up Lords of Shadows sometime after it had hit used prices. I enjoyed the first part up until you meet the goat guy and was really looking forward to seeing where things went. Then I had to fight that giant Shadow of the Colossus boss. I got frustrated at the lack of conveyance as to WTF I was supposed to do. So, I turned it off and figured I'd come back to it later.

I didn't.

I restarted a couple months later because I'd forgotten what had happened.

Same boss, same problem. Shut it off and just traded it in.

Thing is, I'm still jonesing to see what happens, but it kind of keeps getting pushed to the back of my mind until recently. I went to Youtube last weekend determined to at least watch through the cut scenes. Everything I keep hearing about this game (and the ending) I'm fascinated as hell as to what happens and what leads up to it.

I got about 45 minutes into the werewolf village with the crazy lady and was never so bored in my life. The voice direction is "meh" but whatever, the scenes are beautiful, the controls are tight, and I just don't care. Everyone has the personality and expression of a toaster. Gabriel (fuck, I had to even look up what his name was for this) is the blandest man I've come across in gaming.

"Oh, hey, you just stabbed your wife for..reasons, congrats you passed the test"

Gabriel: "Oh. Cool."

I'm glad people appreciate it and even love it, but man that game was just not for me.
