Los Angeles daily discussion thread 11/21

I am checking in. I’ve moved back into my condo in the Vineyard East neighborhood here in West Glendale!

Something fun - I studied the Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin) for the longest time. The Ancient Greeks believed the mentally ill were divine or had connections to the gods that others did not. Mania/psychosis was viewed as a "possession" of sorts, which was revered by the very religious Greeks. Look into Pythia (the Oracle of Delphi) if you are more interested. Greeks would come from all over the Mediterranean to hear her prophecies. There are several theories as to how she prophesized - whether it was schizophrenia/mania or drug induced etc.

I think older societies used to know what to do when perceptions funnel expanded or broke. A spiritual malady describes it best. Dealt with precisely it can raise consciousness and lead to integrating gifts; for the benefit of others. Requires a plan of action to deal with and navigate the subconscious and fears etc which simply comes down to spiritual practices and a relationship with the source.

Check out the Hero’s Journey concept by Joseph Campbell. (Kanye alluded Trump was on his when he met with him)

Campbell describes it well, video isnt bad though.

Be careful out there. LA is weird.
