The person who schedules PAs at my new job told me today that they will not need me next week either but the week after. I asked "Thanks for letting me know. Do you think as the year goes on there might be more opportunities to work? I'm guessing because it's early in the year plus the current covid surge, it's not too busy yet." She responded "Possibly. It's a week-to-week thing. If you need more consistency this might not be quite right for you. I did mention in the interview process that it can ebb and flow."

This made me feel really sad. Her reply seemed like she might not like me or think I'll be a good fit for this job. I had tried to be very polite to her when we've spoken and did talk about how PAs typically work every week. She also said it will be super busy in 2022. This is what all my coworkers said too, it's a weekly thing but some weeks you work less than others. Wondering if I did or said something wrong. I was very excited about this job during my first week, I'm kind of at a loss now if they don't want me.
