Losing faith in this subreddit

Yeah I was hoping to see threads here about in-depth or niche technical topics but all I see is soft skills, management, and career advice.

I agree that your question is not trivially googlable. Super weird to see snarky responses like "What are they teaching kids these days?" when I don't see a any other technical questions on this sub (apparently because mods remove them)

When I sort by "Top posts This Month" I get things like

  • "How do you endure long/many meetings"
  • "Is it a bad time to switch jobs"
  • "Should I approve a pull request with nitpicky comments"
  • A few resume questions
  • A bunch of rants about colleagues not being good at coding / code reviews
  • This was the single thread I could find out of dozens that was vaguely technical

These are all IMO more trivial and unrelated to being an "experienced dev" than your post. If this sub isn't for technical topics, I'm looking for whatever other sub is most similar to HackerNews and lobste.rs
