Losing weight and Depression

I have suffered from severe depression for about 20 years now. Unfortunately, (not really, but "unfortunate" bc I hate it so much,) exercise is key. I'm on a cocktail of antidepressants, which are probably essential to keeping me from killing myself, but it's the exercise that I've discovered since I started this weight loss journey that actually makes me feel better.

So, while it's really the diet that will help get the pounds off, it's been the exercise that keeps me going on this stupid losing weight goal (even though I've plateaued at 30 lbs, and need to get my ass back on the horse again!)

So, in answer to your question. The only way I can stick to my weight loss goal and blast through the zero motivation to leave my bed and try to prioritize MYSELF and my own self care is to fucking exercise. God, how I hate it so much, but I mean, sweat and suck wind and suffer through sore muscles (running or very fast walking) kind of exercise. I actually think going for a walk outdoors and breathing fresh air accomplishes the same goals, however.

Good luck. My heart goes out to fellow depression-ers bc I know how awful it is, AND, I know how weight loss and depression is a special kind of hell. :-/
