lousy Jaugust weather

I went to public high school after being homeschooled. It definitely is pretty common. I'm so glad I wasn't homeschooled through high school.

I actually did quite well in high school and ended up graduating with the highest GPA in my class. A lot of the principals and teachers also said that they see a lot of homeschoolers come in who are way behind grade level, so they were surprised when I could actually keep up with all the advanced classes I took. I honestly feel though like it was kind of despite homeschooling, not because of it, and I do feel like I was behind socially. (You won't get a homeschooling parent to admit it, but those social issues are real for a lot of homeschoolers.)

The last few years of homeschooling my parents pretty much just left me alone while my mom focused on my younger siblings, so while I did have textbooks and some video courses to follow, I mostly just studied whatever interested me. And from talking to a lot of my homeschooled peers, this was actually pretty normal and I actually think I did more than many of them - it's kind of shocking how little schoolwork many of them did.
