It’s not about you. It’s about the fad going around of people diagnosing themselves with everything under the sun. My doubt isn’t something to be taken personally, it’s a logical autoreaction to having too much communication with people claiming to have diagnoses they never got assessed for. My stance -and the mental health community’s- is if it’s not diagnosed by a professional, it’s not valid because symptoms of anything can be other things. Yours was diagnosed by someone who went to school to assess people for 4 or more years, therefore is valid. You should be upset at the internet communities who validate and encourage self-diagnoses, as that is what causes this kind of doubt. I’m sorry I doubted you. I doubt everyones complex diagnoses unless they say it was professionally diagnosed.
