I love the concept of LoA but I think this sub is full of misinformation

I both agree and disagree with you. I've actually found some help information here that has really helped me focus and understand myself better. I also like LOA folks, because if you tell them something seemingly unrealistic, they don't tell you things like "that's not realistic" like 'normal' people and try to help you understand the heart of the matter. Very helpful and encouraging so I do like this forum!

On the action, I do agree with you. I also do think that people are more connected than they realize and can feel positive and negative emotions, and hence you do bring support or obstacles in terms of other people into your life. But you still need to work towards your goals.

I would like a job with more responsibility and better pay, and yes perhaps a headhunter will randomly reach out to me and offer me a job, and I do think that is more likely to happen if I visualize myself as a success and send out positive vibes. And while a chunk of my time is spent thinking about why I still feel uncomfortable with the idea of being responsible for other people at work and doubting myself, I'm also trying to gain responsibility at work, learn new skills, etc. to make me prepared for that job. This is very different, IMO, from someone sitting at home and visualizing themselves becoming a CEO, with the anticipation somehow it will happen. No one is going to magically knock on your door and ask you to run a company because you feel good about yourself. If you still think that happens, read the book "Outliers". But if you feel good about yourself AND you have done the work of learning how to manage, getting promotions at work, etc. that is much more likely to happen. IMO, all successful people fall into the second category and just think of it as common sense. People who are really into LOA, IMO, get that and are trying to figure out how to feel good about themselves or are hoping for a pipe dream and sitting at home waiting for the checks to show up in the mail. Meanwhile, the person who sold them the $9.99 ebook on how to visualize getting checks in the mail, in addition to visualizing the $9.99 in ebook revenues, actually sat down, wrote the book, created a website and marketed the materials to create a passive income stream. For some reason, that is never in the book though ;)
