i love democracy.

I was just browsing as an outsider who usually refrains from participating in this sub, but I just wanted to drop in and say that this take is inaccurate and deluaional on multiple levels.

First off, Rogue One is insanely popular amongst basically every "faction" of the fanbase. There are certainly critics of that movie (myself included), but look at literally any post mentioning Rogue One on any SW subreddit and you will see unanimous praise. I have no idea where you're getting this idea that Disney fanboys have some kind of bias against it.

Second, what the hell even is the logic with this "OT fans are blinded by nostalgia but it's okay, we won't bother with them and sequels are still better than prequels so we still win and in the long run time will vindicate us" projection? Is that really the lens you think most fans are watching these movies through? As someone who generally enjoys the OT and sequels the most out of the saga, I have NO idea what you're talking about here. I just think it's an insanely flawed movie from an character-building and editing standpoint. That's why I, and most who are critical of it, tend to tear into that movie. It has nothing to do with coming out on top with some arbitrary era war.

This is a hell of a convoluted narrative you've come up with to validate your weird hangups. If there IS a trend of sequel fans disliking Rogue One (which I personally haven't noticed), it's likely because the sequels are strongest in the areas where Rogue One was weakest. It's really that simple.
