GW2 gives smaller dlc like the living story episodes away for free if you log in at least once while it is still the newest episode and nothing they have ever sold on the gem shop has even been close to $100 whether it was limited time only or not, not to mention the fact that their expansions/chapters are more than a single zone. Hell gw2 even allows you to buy everything in the cashshop with money earned in the game with expansions being the only exception.

It has everything to do with the cashshop, they charge a ridiculous amount of money for things like this while still overcharging for everything else. Them making more money than Anet while giving less content to their players just means Anet cares more about their game and players than Zenimax does.

I am not shaming them for charging for everything, because i know they need to pay the bills and it costs money to make stuff. I am only shaming them because while charging for everything they still release stuff like this that costs 10 times more than it realistically should. It being completely optional is irrelevant.
