A love letter to ActIII

I don’t mind it from Lower Kurast onwards, but in my opinion the first 3 zones are simply bad game design (and the only place that bad design sticks out in D2 because the rest is so damn good). They are long and expansive with very little differentiation from one another and no real pattern or system to navigating them like every other zone in the game. And as a whole, so much of the act is just kind of useless space. Even Kurast city is aesthetically beautiful but besides 1 out of the 6 temples, and the quick sewer stop, none of the city really matters or is worth exploring. Collecting the staff in A2 is fun, I actually like playing it out. Collecting Khalim’s relics in A3 just feels like a tedious chore.
