I love trucks but I have no real use for one

Homeowner here.

Here's a brief list of things I've done with my truck this year that would be difficult or impossible in a car:

  • Haul about 5 yards of soil for my lawn
  • Haul 2 yards of stone for the dog run
  • Haul 4-500lbs of garbage to the dump several times
  • Haul lumber, poles, concrete, drywall, and a variety of other building materials for DIY homeowner type projects
  • Haul about 30 loads of stuff to a storage locker to move out of our old house
  • Borrow a 16 ft covered trailer and tow everything from the locker to the new house in about 5 trailer loads
  • Pick up a couple thousand pounds of lumber for the guy I borrowed the trailer from and deliver it to him
  • Throw the bikes and a bike-trailer in the back and drive to a beautiful area to go cycling with my wife and daughter

I mean, the list just goes on and on.

Yea there are alternative ways to get a lot of this stuff done (delivery or truck rentals mostly) but these get expensive and time consuming to arrange, not to mention they can be a huge headache for specific scenarios (like the move to a new house leaving you between houses for a week in the middle).

Any homeowner automatically has a ton of uses for a truck.
