I love your country

Gosh I hope you get some better answers. These so far are not are a bit useless. Including mine to be fair but I will try.

I would consider other areas, personally I just don’t find those cities the best on offer. I don’t mind the heat so much and the northern cities tend to be a little less all about the rat race. Brisbane is pretty good, it’s getting busier but a lot of areas still have a more chilled social feel. Was always described as a big beach town and that feeling does still linger. Haven’t been to Darwin but I hear good things from friends who live there. They would be my choices if city life is your goal.

However if your heart is set on it Melbourne is full of young people with an amazing amount of beautiful food and cultural experiences. Everyone always came across as quite friendly to me. Except anyone in a car, the road rage is real and it’s terribly terribly cold in the winter. Pretty much the weather is the main reason I wouldn’t recommend. Though you can drive to the snow fields in winter for a ski. Housing seems ok, if you are ok with roommates. Which can be a great social experience in itself if you are young and want to meet people. Plenty of ads around especially on bookface. Not a bad springboard for a start here I feel.

Sydney I struggle with, it’s just too overdeveloped for my tastes. I really couldn’t recommend it. Was voted one of the crankiest cities which has been my experience. Worth a visit as a tourist though.

Sydney and Melbourne I would describe as our most multi cultural cities, so you would find alot of people in the same situation. Melbourne I just think is friendlier overall.

I doubt you would have too many issues with a job in IT but really cannot speak to that personally. May also depend on your Visa. It’s a thriving industry, same as a lot of places.

Any other questions feel free to pm, will help where I can.
