Loved CK2 but cannot get into EU4

It reminds me of my first ever game with EU4. Spoiler: I ended up not buying it.

I took Wallachia, I just wanted to form Romania and peacefully support other Orthodox countries and mind my business.

After 200 years in my first ever game (= making a lot of mistakes and learning everything on the fly) I was the Balkan powerhouse, owning basically everything except Moldova... and as such I still hadn't formed Romania! The only thing I wanted to do!

This game is disheartening.

What do I do while not waging war you say? Nothing. Everything else is driven by button pushing, not events nor building up.

Make things happen they say. Utter bullshit, there's nothing to make. Change alliances they said. And what does this mean? Automagically improve relations. Click a button. As always. That's making things for a EU4 player.

Coming from a game like CK then is really bad: there, for example, you can gain land in many ways (diplomacy, plotting, war, marriage), your ruler's abilities aren't points directly expendable thus forcing you to make things instead of spending your not earned magic points, etc.

To enjoy this game you must either have serious problems or be a robot.
