I loved Horizon, but was disappointed with Horizon 2. I've been excited about 3, but now that it's here, I'm a little wary of buying it.

The music list is even worse this time around. The stations with the largest tracklists are now the rock and rap stations. Very disappointing when the whole vibe was supposed to be that of an electronic music festival. There's so much good electronic music out there but it looks like this time they're trying to make everybody happy instead of making an iconic soundtrack like the first one. Also worth noting is that the generally pretty crappy DnB station from the second is the largest electronic playlist. This was enough to cause my enthusiasm to plummet.

Other than that it seems pretty obvious from the last entry that they're going to suck all the life out of the series with bi-annual sequels a la mainline Forza which is only updated in the most incremental fashion from entry to entry. There's no continuity in online lobbies or features so instead of seeing the game steadily improve these features they just sort of mysteriously add or omit features on every iteration without and real rhyme or reason. Compare the Forza online lobbies to something like Gran Turismo and the difference is astounding. GT6, a PS3 game, has a comprehensive online lobby system that's based on the last entry which they fine tuned for several years. Forza just kind of throws the baby out with the bathwater every two years and it shows.

So basically, I'm not excited either and that's a huge shame because I adored Forza Horizon and to a slightly lesser degree its sequel. It was fun to cruise around the beautiful countryside listening to music in 2 but there wasn't much of a video game underneath that premise; just a lot of repetitive busywork.
