Once Vader dies, he doesn’t come back to life, the Emperor doesn’t get cloned and Luke doesn’t get married …"

Granted, he did say he wouldn't do episode 7 in that quote, but then he did start writing an outline for it when he sold the company to disney. But he always seemed to consider the EU a parallel universe that had little to no bearing on his films.
