i always wanted to do a debate at school, english classes sometimes had them but never mine.

Rolls up to the end of the year and we are finally doing one, cant remember the topic at all but we get split into two teams.

as usual the "popular" kids are doing all the talking, i'm just sitting back and waiting for them to contradict themselves.

Boom, other team completely contradicts their arguments and (in my mind) they have lost. i speak up and get told "no" by the other team, so i repeat where they have completely failed in their argument, goes silent for 30s, then they carry on with the fucking argument exactly as before using the same points that are contradicting themselves as if i had said nothing, well yeah, what does the quiet kid know anyway, ignore him

Got an average grade while the loud dumb incorrect people got the high grades.

Gave up on debating
