LPT: Don't pay your workers to save money

I worked for a utility company that lost a lawsuit of a few 100M back around 2011. It was field work, so some local managers were having guys organize their work tickets in their driveway before clocking in at an actual first job somewhere. Was only 5 or 10 minutes but was a class action suit once some blew the whistle. Now their laptops are suuuuper locked down and monitored and log anytime they go on and off to start your time sheet.

I also did a summer with Walmart during the 2008 recesion and they had lost a suit where employees would end up helping someone after they clocked out in the back and where leaving the store. They told us to take our badge and everything off but if someone stopped us and we had to help them for even a second to come back and have the office guy manually add that time.
