LPT: If you can smell your own perfume/cologne througout the day, you have used it too much. It will annoy people.

Hey, I get where you’re going here as my family owned a ton of cats and dogs and let them use the bathroom anywhere they wanted and not clean it up. It smelled awful. They were also chronic smokers. I also have odd skin that for some reason I have to use axe soaps and yeah, I use the cologne as a light freshen (spray on wrists and neck) once in the day at the start of a day. After my shower and whatnot.

I can say however, the recommendations made came off strongly and can indeed be perceived as a demand. I understand being highly sensitive to odors, I am myself given what I had to deal with for a time, I’m pretty conscious about not smelling bad. I make sure though that it’s just a shower, a light freshen (deodorant and cologne). I’m also play sports and work in a physical labor environment and use enough to fight any strong scent that would develop during the day. Just gotta wash clothes regularly, wash sports equipment, shower when you need it (too much is awful for your skin) and apply deodorant/cologne in a manner that you don’t smell it nor can anyone else unless they give you a hug or something. If you do physical labor or play a sport, of course shower as soon as you’re able.

True odor, the kind that people hate is usually over applied cologne or someone who hasn’t washed their clothes for a few days, house is well... like I described an old situation of mine, nor showered for days. It actually takes time to set in. Cologne is immediate application of an organic material designed to release a scent. The human body takes a while just lazing about to produce the same odor and can be sped up via exercise. It has to seep into the clothes and such. You walk up to someone who has just done physical work that is sweaty... long as they wash all their clothes regularly, use basic cleaning products and whatnot... it doesn’t smell at all, often they have no scent as when they sweat it cancels any scent out.

Overdoing of not cleaning or cleaning is the issue most have for scents, each person is different and needs to find that sweet spot for them :)
