LPT: If you don’t feel comfortable giving cash to the homeless carry a $5-10 gift card to a local grocery store or fast food place that you could give instead

Man I’ve been homeless and I ain’t giving them shit. I slept on a bench in a Minnesota winter and got a job at burger king and rented a room in a month. Most humbling experience.

I feel bad for the people who are mentally ill, drug addiction eventually leads there so idk how to feel. It hurts my stomach to see people in those situations because I know what it’s like but I’m still not giving them anything besides food.

You give them a card for a grocery store and there going to walk up to the store and sell it for cash to get dope.

It’s very hard to watch people suffer but I try and tell people anything besides food and resources to get better is just enabling them to continue to dig that hole deeper.

Hope nobody reads this comment and thinks I’m a shitty person, It’s quite the opposite.
