LPT: If a loved one passes away, make them proud instead of throwing your life away.

I had a similar reaction. Five years ago at age 22, at my dads funeral basically all my relatives came up to me and told me how important it is to not give up and make my dad proud and so on. As I proceeded to fail out of university this year, that shit really hurt. I ended up never really talking to those relatives again and pretty much started over with an apprenticeship. Their idea of making my dad proud, did not work for me and its like whatever, my dad is too busy being dead he will not give a singular fuck how much I earn or how educated I am. In fact, the things he would be proud of me for would be kicking addiction and preserving despite no tangible support from any of those "concerned relatives".
